In the app you can also choose “today’s deals” to preview the sales 24 hours before they go live. If you want instant notifications, download the Amazon Shopping app. You can do this via desktop by adding the item to your shopping cart and clicking “save for later.” Amazon will notify you if the price changes. We recommend setting a deal alert for anything you have your eye on during the extravaganza because things can get overwhelming. Those are called lightning deals more on that below. Throughout the 48 hours, Amazon will also drop a series of short-and-sweet deals available until supplies last. Amazon Prime will announce the dates officially a few weeks before the event, but you can also be sure to expect a few sales to drop early.
Last year, we even saw Prime Early Access Sale-a secondary Amazon Prime sale event in October 2022 aimed to help people get ahead on their holiday shopping. Normally, it’s held sometime in July, though in previous years and during the pandemic, we’ve seen it happen in October and June. We don’t have exact Prime Day dates quite yet.
In the past, Epi readers particularly loved the deals on Joule sous vide machines and cast-iron skillets. If past years are any indication, we can expect deep discounts on Instant Pots (Amazon sold upward of 300,000 Instant Pots on Prime Day one year) and bestseller kitchen products like espresso machines and Dutch ovens. Like all highly anticipated sales events, there’s a lot of secrecy surrounding most of the deals that’ll be available.
Prime Day is Amazon’s own online shopping “holiday”-and it actually lasts two days, not one. But for now, here’s the 411 in advance on what Amazon Prime Day is all about and how we plan to cover the event.
